Supervisor Robert J. Maher has been an entrepreneur for more than 25 years.  He is the founder of Galaxy Terminal Inc., a U.S. Customs bonded warehouse, as well as Carefree Cartage Inc., a cargo transportation company.  His extensive business experience, and contagious passion for community service, brings to the Board fresh, innovative, and strategic ideas for raising and managing Township funds.

During these times of economic turmoil, one of Robert's main objectives is to increase awareness on all of the outstanding programs and services that Orland Township has to offer its residents.  He is continuously working to inform, and assist the people, and to do so he focuses much of his energy on the following initiatives:
Robert and his wife, Susan, have been married for more than 36 years, and have resided in Orland Township for the past decade.  Together they have three children: Christine (31), Robert (29), and Joseph (25), four beautiful grandchildren, and one on the way.  He is a firm believer that it is the civic duty of all U.S. citizens to dedicate a large portion of their lives strengthening their city, state and/or country.  To honor this great responsibility he has proudly served as your Orland Township Supervisor since April of 2005.
